My Healthy Weight, a new dedicated e‑healthpathway for weight management launches

Patients will be supported with digital health infrastructure, independent

medical oversight and care in the community.

My Healthy Weight, a new dedicated e‑health pathway for weight management has launched at myhealthyweight.ie, brought to you by Navi Group and WebDoctor.

The service enables patients to access a clinically appropriate care pathway for weight management treatment, directly from their pharmacy.

Patients using the service will be supported with clinical infrastructure and telehealth
services provided by Webdoctor, and its Irish Medical Council registered clinicians.

In partnership with Navi Group, Ireland’s leading pharmacy services management
company, the service is now available through 100 community pharmacies nationwide, with further expansion planned over the coming months.

This pharmacy-led pathway combines in-store engagement, digital clinical assessment
and structured follow-up for weight management care.

Obesity is recognised by the World Health Organization and the HSE as a complex,
chronic and multifactorial disease. Its consequences extend beyond weight: it is
associated with type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, certain cancers, and significant impacts on mental health and quality of life. According to the Healthy Ireland Survey 2024, 56% of adults in Ireland are living with overweight or obesity (1).

The HSE’s Model of Care for Obesity identifies a clear need to reach patients in the
community with an integrated approach to identification, early intervention and
treatment (2).

In research published last year, it found that patients in Ireland living with
obesity waited on average eight years from first weight concern to first weight
discussion with their Health Care Professional (3).

This pathway aims to achieve earlier intervention, improved communication and
continuity of care giving greater patient choice, while complementing existing GP and
primary care services. Pharmacists retain full responsibility for patient interaction in
accordance with professional standards.

Gareth Lambe, Chief Executive Officer, Webdoctor.ie/Medihive said:
“We are proud to introduce this new pathway for the management of obesity, marking a significant step forward in how patients access and experience care. It will enable more timely and improved care. We are committed to delivering patient-centred solutions that not only enhance clinical outcomes but also make the healthcare journey more seamless and accessible.”

Leigh Herron, Managing Director, Navi Group said:
“At Navi Group, we believe community pharmacies are uniquely positioned to play a greater role in supporting patients throughout their healthcare journey. We have seen first-hand the importance of connecting patients with the healthcare support they need.

Through our managed services platform, digital infrastructure and patient-support programmes, including My Healthy Weight, we help pharmacies deliver enhanced care, support medication adherence and connect patients with wider healthcare services. By placing pharmacy at the centre of a coordinated care model, we can improve patient outcomes and help reduce pressure on the wider health system."
