ROLE: Key Account Manager (Wholesale)

ROLE OVERVIEWAs part of the procurement function, this role works closely with the ethical / medicines purchasing team to gather relevant information in order to improve and optimise pricing, and to grow sales for the business. The Account Manager will be responsible for negotiating the pricing, pulling together and analysing sales information, preparing quotations and maintaining the master price file, and flagging up opportunities to the Director of International Wholesale and the Chief Procurement Officer.
This is a varied role as part of a collaborative team in an exciting, fast-paced environment, carrying out essential profitability reporting and margin control and improvement.
RESPONSIBILITIES - Act as the main point of contact between assigned customers and the company
- Develop and sustain solid relationships with assigned customers
- Prepare and lead the compilation of Quotations and Tenders
- Address and resolve all customer queries and complaints
- Enter and record enquiries and offers onto the system
- Use available information (licences, market intelligence, IQVIA etc) to identify new line opportunities for assigned customers
- Work with the warehouse for clarification and adjustments of SOs, customer collections, packing requirements etc.
- Keep the Team Lead informed of any commercially sensitive issues (demand changes, price changes, market changes etc) that they will need to feedback to the Director of International Wholesale and/or Chief Procurement Officer
- Liaise with other internal departments (e.g. finance, warehouse, IT, regulatory) to ensure operational requirements are met
- Understand freight options, rates, and terms and conditions
- Employ pricing strategies that meet the business’ standards, policies and procedures.
- Participate in and prepare for meetings
- Participate in the development of the software tools used by the trading department
- Support training for new team member(s)
- Attend Trade Shows as needed in order to identify and recruit new customers
- Visit assigned customers as needed to ensure retention and growth where possible
