ROLE OVERVIEW:Reporting to the Commercial Manager, this role is responsible for the development and performance of all sales, rebate and margin activities for the assigned product category within Pharmacy Retail, by meeting three key objectives:
1. Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate trading terms, joint business plans (JBPs), and marketing strategies, to deliver commercial income and rebate targets.
2. Product Selection: Develop and deliver a compelling category product range that offers choice and value to Pharmacy Retail partners and customers.
3. Pricing and Promotions: Develop and deliver pricing strategies and promotional plans to maximize sales and profitability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Supplier Management: - Day-to-day contact for suppliers and long-term relationship building
- Management and negotiation with of supplier written terms
- Conduct monthly supplier reviews
- Maintenance and collation of supplier information
- Resolving or escalating supply issues
- Maintenance and update supplier price files and management of price change process
- supporting Finance with supplier price detail and terms
- Identify and manage supplier risk and ensure Navi Group has continuity of product and pricing visibility
- Managing the product file and data input: listing and delisting products with Master Data, maintaining product files and managing changes and delists
- Identify procurement savings and ensure Navi Group is always buying at the best price
Creating and providing insight for better commercial decision making:- Collating Data & Reporting: preparation of reports for weekly reporting, supplier & product analysis, range reviews
- Support category and range reviews through data and market insight, reporting, presentation preparation
- Forecasting/Sales: working with sales to forecast new products, new suppliers and promotions. Monitoring and reporting on same.
Collaborating with internal stakeholders:• Working with marketing to produce regular and seasonal product promotions and campaigns that drive commercial income
• Working with Visual Merchandising to ensure planograms and POS are optimised for sales and margin targets
• Working with Finance on accurate financial planning, budgeting and forecasting in category performance
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS- Proven and demonstrable experience of category buying within B2C, ideally within community pharmacy industry
- Strong commercial acumen
- Ability to develop strong supplier partnerships
- High level of proficiency with price file management
- Proven experience in challenging or negotiation situations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Results orientated and motivated by targets
- Analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks
- Proven experience working in a fast-paced environment both independently and within team setting to meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to proactively and independently solve complex problems
